International Conference on Holistic Organisational Sustainability Concludes at Pondicherry University
Puducherry, 25 January 2026 — The two-day International Conference on Holistic Organisational Sustainability: Integrating Knowledge Systems, Spirituality and ESG concluded at Pondicherry University, bringing together international academics, practitioners, and sustainability leaders to examine emerging approaches to responsible and values-driven organisations.
The conference was jointly organised by the Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, and ISOL Global Foundation, USA, in collaboration with Washburn University, USA; Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan, Canada; and The New School, New York, USA. The partnership provided an international platform for dialogue on the integration of knowledge systems, spirituality, ethical leadership, and ESG within organisational sustainability.
Recognition for APSCC
A key highlight of the valedictory ceremony was the presentation of the ISOL NGO Award on Value-Based Sustainable Organizations to APSCC (Association for Promoting Sustainability in Campuses and Communities).
The award recognises APSCC’s sustained efforts to advance sustainability through knowledge, community engagement, institutional action, and values-based approaches.
The ISOL Corporate Award on Value-Based Sustainable Organizations was presented to Eaton Power Quality Pvt. Ltd.
The valedictory programme included a conference summary by Prof. Sunita Singh Sengupta and a conference report by Dr. Sinouvassane Natarajan. Addresses by Mr. Peeyush Arya, VVK, Puducherry, and Syed Sajjadh Ali highlighted the significance of ethical leadership, indigenous wisdom, and ESG in building more responsible enterprises.
Global Perspectives on Sustainability
Five plenary sessions featured distinguished speakers, including Prof. P. Pawan Kumar Singh, IIT Tiruchirappalli; Luckmika Perera, Australia; Dr. Suresh Kalagnanam, Canada; Prof. Norma Juma, USA; and Mr. Sunerao Acharya.
Discussions addressed spirituality and sustainability, ESG integration, integrated reporting, performance measurement, accountability, and culturally grounded approaches to organisational transformation.
A dedicated panel on Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS), moderated by Prof. P. Natarajan, brought together VengadessaneNadradjane, Prof. Aravind Jastoria, and Mr. Sanjeev Ranganathan. The multidisciplinary exchange examined the role of indigenous knowledge across law, technology, governance, and industry.
Strengthening Global Collaboration
The announcement of the next ISOL Conference in the USA further strengthened the commitment to sustained international academic engagement and collaboration in holistic organisational sustainability.
The conference aligned with SDG 4, SDG 8, SDG 9, SDG 12, SDG 16, and SDG 17, reinforcing the importance of education, responsible institutions, innovation, ethical governance, sustainable practices, and global partnerships.
The ISOL NGO Award marks an important milestone for APSCC and further affirms its commitment to advancing value-based sustainable organisations through knowledge, partnerships, and transformative action.
