Privacy Policy

The Association for Promoting Sustainability in Campuses & Communities (APSCC) (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website apsccglobal.org (the “Site”), in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

By using this Site or submitting information through our forms, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Nature of Our Site & Information We Collect

Our Site is a largely static, informational website. We do not automatically collect, store, or process personal data simply when you browse the Site.

We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it by submitting one of our forms — which may be hosted on Google Forms or embedded website forms (for purposes such as volunteer sign-ups, partnership enquiries, donations, event registration, or feedback). Depending on the form, this may include your:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Organisation / institution (where relevant)
• Any other information you choose to provide in the form fields.

We collect only information that you provide voluntarily or that is already available in the public domain. We do not knowingly collect data from children without verifiable parental or guardian consent, as required under the DPDP Act.

2. How We Use Your Information

Any data you submit is used strictly to:

• Respond to your specific enquiries or requests;
• Coordinate volunteer activities, partnerships and NGO initiatives;
• Process and acknowledge donations;
• Send updates about our environmental projects — only where you have expressly opted in.

We use your data only for the purpose for which it was provided. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Legal Basis & Consent

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, given through a clear affirmative action (such as submitting a form). Where processing is for a legitimate use permitted by law, we rely on that basis. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 7), and withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

4. Third-Party Data Hosting (Google Forms)

Where responses are submitted through Google Forms, your data is transmitted to and stored on Google’s servers and is subject to Google’s own privacy practices. We encourage you to review the Google Privacy Policy to understand how Google protects and manages your data. Similarly, our donation links may direct you to third-party platforms governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Cookies & Tracking

As a largely static website, we do not deploy tracking cookies or behavioural analytics to monitor your browsing. However, third-party platforms you interact with (such as Google, when you open a Google Form, or social-media links) may set cookies of their own, governed by their respective policies.

6. Sharing of Personal Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except: (a) with service providers strictly necessary to deliver a service you requested (e.g. Google Forms); (b) where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process; or (c) with your explicit consent.

7. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
• Correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Erase your personal data where it is no longer required;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity;
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us and, if unsatisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your form responses from our records — please contact us using the details in Section 11.

8. Data Retention & Security

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Where data is held on third-party platforms (e.g. Google), it is protected by those providers’ security measures.

9. International Data Transfer

Because we use platforms such as Google Forms, your data may be stored or processed on servers located outside India. Such transfers are made in accordance with the DPDP Act and applicable regulations, and we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
